The Universal Design Alliance (UDA) strives to create awareness and expand the knowledge of universal design by providing services and offering various educational programs locally, nationally, and online from instructors who are experts in universal design and related fields to:
- Develop a more comprehensive understanding of Universal Design and its impact on today’s populations.
- Prepare for career growth
- Gain enrichment of cutting edge technology
- Enhance job skills for future opportunities
- Learn feature-specific design enhancing consumers’ lives
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Available for the professional and for those seeking additional information about universal design. CEUs in varying lengths and topics are available. The following list may or may not be accredited for your specific purpose. Please contact the source for additional information.

Internships
A. With the Universal Design Alliance
Selected internships are available through the Universal Design Alliance. Currently, openings are available for website maintenance and newsletter development. Mentoring opportunities are available on an "as needed" basis.
B. In Universal Design
To increase student knowledge in universal design, internships with universities, businesses, and the government are available. The Universal Design Alliance will help put students in contact with other internship opportunities.
Universal Design Alliance Member Training
Various dates, locations, and contact information for universal design training from the Universal Design Alliance are offered. The goal of each training is to create a climate in which all can share universal design knowledge is paramount to the organization's purpose. Participants are provided information to:
- Support basic principles of Universal Design, its requirements and avenues of application.
- Share Universal Design knowledge in member circles/
- Encourage and use information in planning and implementing Projects.
- Empower others to promote and implement Universal Design
Topics covered during the training include:
- The ABC's of Universal Design
- Why everyone needs Universal Design
- The Principles of Universal Design
- Marketing Universal Design to Clients
- The Universal House
- General Universal Design Housing Features (interior and exterior plus security issues)
Continuing Education Unit (CEU)
Each session offers the opportunity for .3 CEU credit.

Each session: Members $25.00; Non-Members $75.00 ; Students $10.00 ; .3 CEU Credit, $12.00.
